Distillation is a process used to separate component substances (fractions) from liquid mixtures through vaporization and condensation. Since substances have different boiling points, the system needs to facilitate the vaporization, condensation, and removal of various fractions. This process is commonly known as fractional distillation.
All equipment can be offered individually or as part of a complete system (on a turnkey basis). These systems are commonly used for alcohol distillation, solvent recovery, or any complete chemical process system.
The feed tank is used for raw material storage. The liquid can be pumped out to the preheater or directly to the column, depending on the process needs.
The pre-heater is used to heat the raw material before feeding it into the column. The requirement for this equipment depends on process conditions, design parameters, and the raw material's characteristics.
The kettle reboiler helps vaporize the liquid to be distilled. It contains a U-tube bundle, and heating media circulates through the tubes, transferring heat to the liquid inside the kettle.
The distillation column is the heart of the system. The vapor created in the kettle reboiler condenses inside the column. Fractional distillation separates the components (fractions) through repeated vaporization-condensation cycles. We offer both packed and non-structured columns.
The main condenser partially condenses the vapor inside the distillation column. It is a shell and tube condenser where vapor flows through the shell and water flows through the tubes. Additional equipment like vent condensers, reflux drums, and product coolers can be incorporated as required by the process.
The vent condenser further condenses the partially condensed vapor from the main condenser.
The reflux drum collects part of the condensate from the condenser and returns it to the upper part of the distillation column. The reflux liquid helps cool and condense the up-flowing vapor, enhancing the efficiency of the column.
If further cooling of the product is required after it is received from the condenser, we offer custom product coolers.
The final condensed products are collected in the product receivers. We can manufacture these receivers based on your specific requirements.
